By faith Abel, by faith Enoch, by faith Noah, by faith Abraham, by faith Isaac, by faith Jacob, by faith Joseph, by faith Moses, by faith they passes through the red sea, by faith the walls of Jericho fell down, by faith the harlot Rohab perished not, by faith they subdued kingdoms, wrought righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions, quenched the violence of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, out of weakness were made strong, waxed valiant in fight, turned to flight the armies of the aliens, etc... What a man, woman, or child can do by faith, is, a great mystery of our personal relationship with Jesus Christ. We often wonder why some peoples seem to have so much faith in certain areas. By scripture, we all through faith understand that the worlds were framed by the Word of God. All these great people of God had a word from God that framed their lives into God’s plan and destiny. Abraham had the promise of a seed that would bless all nations, and a country for his offspring. It moved him to begin his journey for God. Enoch saw the flood of destruction to come on the earth, and by faith was translated out of this natural realm. Noah also moved with the fear of the flood coming, and built a boat he couldn’t use if he didn’t hear God. Today, all believers must be wise like Noah. The flood is evident by history, and the rainbow is still appearing to remind us. We must also be preparing for the
judgment of fire. Let us look again at Peter’s account of the past, and the coming
judgment. II Peter 3:6-7 says, “Whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished; but the heavens and the Earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of
judgment and perdition of ungodly men”. Just as Noah knew judgment was coming by water, we know
judgment is coming by fire. All these heroes of faith are to be our witnesses to live by faith in our age. Let God’s word frame our lives for this age in which we live. The scripture calls this a race of faith. All these kept in the race of faith and received the prize. The Hebrew writer says to continue (by faith) and finish the race we must lay aside every weight, and the sin that so easily besets us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, and keep looking to Jesus the author and finisher of our faith. RUNNING LIGHT WITH OUR EYES ON JESUS.
